Xiaomi launches a new variant Mi Note 2

The Mi Note 2 was launched in October last year, with dual-edged curved glass on both the front and back. The smartphone was launched in three variants, 4GB+64GB, a 6GB+128GB, and a Global Edition 6GB+128GB model with support for global LTE brands.

The company was teasing a phone with 6GB+64GB configuration with Snapdragon 800 series SoC. It was expected to be a launch of Mi6's another variant but instead launched a new variant of the Mi Note 2, sporting 6GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage, putting all rumours to rest.

INTERNALS:

The device sports a Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor clocked at 2.35GHz coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. It is powered by a 4,070mAh non-removable battery and also supports QuickCharge 3.0 (9V/2A) for fast charging. The physical home button on the front also houses the fingerprint sensor with two capacitive touch buttons which can be programmed as per the user.

CAMERA:

The phone has a 22.56MP Sony IMX318 sensor on the rear with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and EIS equipped with a dual tone dual LED flash. On the front is an 8MP Sony IMX268 autofocus sensor with the f/2.0 aperture and 76-degree wide-angle view.

CONNECTIVITY:

The phone supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS, A-GPS, and USB Type-C. It's worth noting that Mi Note 2 is a dual-sim device with virtual sim support. Also on board is the Aqstic audio processor, with 192kHz/24-bit Hi-Fi sound quality. 

PRICE:

The new Xiaomi Mi Note 2 6GB+64GB variant has been priced at CNY 2,899 (Rs. 27,500). The 4GB+64GB model is priced at CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs. 26,600), a 6GB+128GB storage model is priced at CNY 3,299 (roughly Rs. 31,300), and the Global Edition 6GB+128GB model priced at CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs. 33,200).

As of now, these models are only available in China and there is no official statement for its launch in other markets like India. You have to import one from China via third party resellers to get your hands on it.
