Asus Zenfone AR Launched in India with Project Tango-enabled!

After being launched in Taiwan earlier, the Zenfone AR has finally been launched in India this week. The device comes with 8GB of RAM and a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED QHD display. It sports a 23MP Sony IMX 318 sensor with OIS and also supports 4K video recording along with depth sensing and motion tracking features. Moreover, the user can avail the no cost EMI offers upto nine months and Reliance is offering 10GB additional 4G data per month over 10 recharges to selected users. This additional 4G data will be credited with every recharge of Rs. 309 or more till 31st March 2018 for up to 10 recharges.
BUILD:
The Zenfone AR is 158.7mm tall, 77.7mm wide and 9mm thick(6.25 x 3.06 x 0.35 in) weighing 170g or 6.00 oz. It is a dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual standby) device which supports a micro-sd card via hybrid solution. There is a fingerprint sensor at the front for providing secure transactions and secured data.
DISPLAY:
The Zenfone AR has a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen covering 16M colours. It is a 5.7 inches panel with an approx 72.6% screen-to-body ratio and a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (~515 ppi pixel density). The screen is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
INTERNALS:
Under the hood, there is a 2.3GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 821 processor coupled with 6GB / 8GB of RAM and Adreno 530 GPU. There are two storage variants of the device, 64GB / 128 GB and 256 GB options which can also be extended further with a microSD card. The device will come with Android Nougat 7.0 operating system out of the box.
CAMERA:
There is an 8MP selfie camera and as mentioned there is a 23MP main camera with dual-tone LED Flash with f/2.0 aperture, 6p Largan lens, 4-axis OIS, 3-axis EIS and Laser autofocus. The main camera features 1/2.6" sensor size, 1 µm pixel size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama. It is capable of shooting 2160p videos at 24fps and1080p@30fps.
On the back, to power the device there is a 3300mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
Asus said that it is closely working with Google to make sure that the device works well with Google Tango and Daydream platform. It is also patterning with well-known brands to bring out the Tango experience to its users.
The Zenfone AR has a hefty price tag of Rs. 49999 which for a Snapdragon 821 is a bit too much!
